A previous customer had Protective Solutions New England install PremiumShield film on his Audi RS5 fully covering the hood, fenders, bumper, and mirrors. He decided to bring it back and have the old film removed and replaced entirely with matte film. After heating and peeling off the previous install and completely scrubbing down the car the RS5 was ready for a fresh new look.
Every inch of exposed paint is going to be protected by the film with all edges wrapped around body lines to hide any seams. To achieve this amount of coverage, stripping off most parts of the car was essential. The bumpers, mirrors, rocker panels, and window clips had to be removed in order to provide the desired amount of protection and hardcore appearance.
The installer first applied the film with a slip solution and squeegeed out any bubbles or wrinkles to ensure a solid bond between the paint and the adhesive. Heating and using an adhesive promoter on parts wrapped into the car was used in order to hide any protruding edges of film. Due to the massive amount of coverage required for this job, the door, rocker, and quarter panel on each side were made from a single 12 foot by 5 foot sheet of material. Because of the aggressive design, trimming and tucking excess film into the recesses of the body proved difficult and time consuming, but the end result was well worth it. Stretching along the fluid bodylines revealed a flat finish flush with the paint, nearly indistinguishable from a much more expensive actual matte paint job from a body shop. We left the grill untouched and covered the front lower fascia in transparent PremiumShield paint protection film, leaving a glossy accent to the overall dark guise of this RS5.
FULLY WRAPPED 2013 AUDI RS5 IN MATTE FILM – FINISHED PRODUCT
The 2005 Ford GT takes inspiration from the Ford GT40 that dominated the racing world in the 1960s. They share the iconic bodystyle from the past, but the 2005 GT takes on a more modern structure. There has always been a high demand for this car because of Ford’s very limited production, just over 4,000 from 2004 to 2006. Getting your hands on one of these mid engine sports cars is no easy task, so having one in your garage is certainly something to be treasured.
We originally wrapped the front end of this car a year ago, and it came back to have the film on the front hood reinstalled after some minor scuffing. The certified installer heated up and removed the existing film, along with cleaning any dirt or residue off the paint before reapplication. After the new film was put on, this 2005 Ford GT was ready to release all 550 horsepower down the road without fear of getting any damage to its paint.
This 911 can really only be described in two words. Race car. Thats all it is and what it was made for. Inside sits 2 race seats a half cage and the dash board with very minimal components with any meaning to the word “comfort” including no radio. There were only a handful of these cars produced for the road and even though this is a replica with a real motor it is one of five in the United States.
Its good to know its owner drives it how its meant to be driven and thus needed our help to protect its paint. With its front end already protected, we created our own custom pieces to custom wrap every inch of this car that could see damage on the track.
Our coverage included the widebody fenders, wheel arch coverage, inner arch coverage, rocker panels and door cups.
Check out our short video of an installation on a 2013 Audi S6. This car was truly breathtaking, one look at it and its hard to hold your jaw up. Inside, color matched one off interior special ordered from Audi gives you an idea of the attention to detail by this customer. Naturally, to keep the outside of the car as stunning as the interior, we protected the vehicles painted surfaces with one of our paint protection kits. Coverage included full hood, fenders, and front bumper.
Everyone has a different reason to protect their paint, wether its protecting your vehicle from your daily commute to work or you’re an enthusiast making sure that your new paint job stays brand new. We have what it takes to protect your investment and your paint. Then there is your not so average enthusiast. How about a garage filled with over five thousand horsepower? Safe to say it blew my hair back.
We only had the opportunity to wrap two of the five cars in the garage, one a blown Chevrolet Camaro with a whopping 800 horsepower. The other a Buick Fairlane with 700 horsepower, all motor. Both were completely rebuilt from the ground up and truly stunning. This enthusiast isn’t looking let these cars just sit and be rubbed with a rag either, we did custom coverage along the body line of each vehicle so that these monsters can be driven the way the were meant to on the street or the track and protected from burning rubber or stone chips from the massive tires both cars are tucking.
Last fall we had the opportunity to wrap this beautiful BMW X5 – M with our Gold Kit. This includes full hood and fender coverage, front bumper, headlights, side view mirrors, wheel arches, rockers and rear bumper. The customer then decided to go one step further and add the bottom of his doors.
Well yesterday this enthusiast was back for more. Full custom door coverage and rear quarters. Making this vehicles paint protected from nearly every angle.
Using bulk rolls of film, we are able to custom cover any painted surface you can throw at us.
Its our business to offer you the best protection on the market today, so whether you’d like a standard kit or custom full coverage like this, we have it covered. The best protection you will never see…literally!
We had an amazing opportunity last week to do a full coverage install on a brand new Audi S5. This car is absolutely stunning inside and out, and what better way to protect that Misano red pearl paint than our very own PremiumShield paint protection film. This installation covers the front bumper, full hood, full fenders, doors, rocker panels, rear quarters, trunk and rear bumper.
As Audi changed body styles, their front grilles have grown larger, many other manufacturers have chosen to do this as well. This makes the front bumper split into two pieces along with a separate piece for the lower skirt. Here our certified installer is positioning the film to cover the passenger side of the bumper.
The difficult part of an install such as this, is that most of the car is custom coverage. Meaning that in some cases there is not a pre cut piece and we make it ourselves using bulk paint protection film.
This was an amazing car to work with and we’re glad to help in protecting this car so it can look brand new for years to come. Full coverage installs and any custom piece you can throw at us are available upon request. Check out the rest of the photos from this install on our gallery page.
